The corpse road only goes one way.
Start here. The first novel in The Iron Vow.
About the book
Hudd should have died with his company. Instead, he crawled out of an ambush with his throat cut and his friends’ blood on his hands.
Now he hunts the only lead he has: a deserter captain marked with a twisted iron nail — the sigil of the men who orchestrated the slaughter.
The chase ends in Gagtooth Fen, a swamp that swallows men whole. The captain is already dead. His killer is waiting. Nukdarog, the Ghost of the Fen — an ogre bound to a silent grove and the cairn of the one she failed to protect. Around her neck hangs the same twisted nail Hudd has sworn to destroy.
They should have killed each other. The Fen decided otherwise. Hudd provides the hunt. Nukdarog provides the slaughter.
The trail leads out of the Fen and into the Greywood, where the Argent Mandate is purging the borderlands — burning villages, hunting refugees like animals, and calling the ashes order. At the end of the corpse road waits Scarhill Camp and the commander who set it all in motion.
Book 1 of The Iron Vow series, this dark and brutal fantasy begins a bloody descent into a world where the only thing worse than the men who burned it down… is what’s coming for them.
